Hello, I'm
Heather Morton
I/O Psychology Coach and Mentor
I'm a wife, mom, and bookworm (or, well, a book hoarder at this point....) who loves learning new things. Not only that, but I love helping others learn new things and figure out their ideal jobs.

Throughout my career, I've naturally found myself being a trusted sounding board, offering evidence-based guidance to friends, colleagues, and students alike. From writing assistance and mentorship to career advice to consulting services, I've supported many by sharing my knowledge and expertise.

I have almost a decade of experience coaching and supporting others along their academic journeys and navigating the job market.

As a coach, I've found a specific niche, helping industrial organizational (I/O) psychologists identify their strengths and find their ideal role.
I know firsthand that this field is vast, and there isn't a nice step-by-step guide to landing the perfect I/O job. I also know that it can be discouraging to apply to dozens, or even hundreds, of companies (some of which weren't even ones I was excited to work at!) and receive that generic rejection email.

So, you might be wondering how I'm qualified to help you. Well, I have a master's and PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I also have additional graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis. I'm also a wife and mom who worked full-time while completing graduate school. Therefore, I know how difficult it can be to juggle so many responsibilities and stay sane while navigating the world of I/O psychology.
I've personally invested over $100K in my own development. So, I bring the lessons I've gained from each of my awesome teachers, mentors, and coaches to my clients.
I'm a certified professional life coach with specific experience in career coaching and leadership development. The people I coach are looking to improve themselves, whether through developing healthier habits, setting better goals, or simply aligning their personal and professional goals with their core values.
I also have certifications in content creation and organizational behavior management (and, as you can probably tell, I really like understanding employee behavior and how to create effective organizations).
Finally, I am part of several professional organizations including:
-
Society of Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP)
-
Division 13 of the American Psychological Association (APA)
-
Coach, Member, and Southeast Regional Leader for the Society of Evidence Based Organizational Consulting (SEBOC)

So, now what?
If you are an I/O psychology professional completing your graduate degree and looking to break into the I/O field with complete competence and confidence, your moment is NOW. Your life is too great to feel confused, lost, or even hopeless about your future as an I/O psychologist. You deserve the clarity and understanding to identify and go after your dream career.
